McLaren BP23 Hyper-GT With 391kmph Will Be The Fastest McLaren Ever

McLaren Automotive has confirmed that its forthcoming new 'Hyper-GT ', codenamed BP23, will achieve the highest top speed of any McLaren yet with the capability to exceed the 391kmph peak speed of the legendary McLaren F1 road car. Mike Flewitt, CEO, McLaren Automotive made the announcement during the Geneva Motor Show 2018. The next new model to join the Ultimate Series following the McLaren Senna features centrally-mounted driving position inspired by F1 road car and a public reveal of the car can be expected this year.

The entire McLaren BP23 production of 106 units was allocated even before the car was officially announced in November 2016 at a price of £1.6million (Rs. 14.41 crore) + taxes. Production is due to begin at the end of next year, with every BP23 personalized to each owner's taste by McLaren Special Operations (MSO), the division of McLaren Automotive responsible for bespoke customer commissions. Featuring a three-seat cockpit design with a central driving position, the McLaren BP23 follows the same layout as the F1, and comes with a petrol-electric hybrid powertrain.
McLaren BP23 will carry an as-yet unannounced name, rather than the alphanumerical nomenclatures used by the McLaren Sports Series and Super Series. The new name, together with the maximum possible speed, will be disclosed nearer to the car's reveal.
