Maserati Grecale SUV To Debut In November
Highlights
- The Grecale will be Maserati's second SUV
- It will be smaller than the Levante
- The Grecale will borrow features from the Levante
It was in September 2020 that we first got to see the Grecale SUV. Yes, this is Maserati's second SUV after the Levante in its portfolio. Naming cars after the most famous winds in the world is a tradition at Maserati. Starting in 1963, with the legendary Mistral, the brand followed this practice with the Ghibli, Bora, Merak and Khamsin. In 2016, the Brand's first SUV was named Levante. Now it's Grecale's turn, a strong north-east wind of the Mediterranean. And now Maserati has confirmed that the Grecale SUV will make its world debut in November this year.
The 2021 Maserati Grecale SUV will be built at Cassino plant in Italy, which is the same plant where the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Giulia sedan are manufactured and we are sure that pre-production units have already be manufactured here.
The Levante was the company's first SUV
The teaser image released by the carmaker clearly shows that the SUV will bear a slightly smaller silhouette compared to the Levante. The SUV will sport the signature Trident on the grille up front. On the inside, the SUV is likely to lift some of its features from the Levante SUV.
No details as regards powertrain are out yet and we wait to know more about the car.
