Festive seasons have proven to be the most lucrative time for carmakers in India to ramp up their sales numbers. While we have seen the effects of this in last month's sales report, the month of October 2016 proved to be quite beneficial for some individual products as well. And Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is one among them. Last month the company sold 10056 units of the Vitara Brezza in the Indian market.

This is the second time that Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has crossed the 10000 sales mark since its launch in March 2016. Last time when the car achieved such a feat was three months back in July 2016, when the company sold 10232 of the Vitara Brezza. With such impressive numbers, currently, the SUV is not just one of the top-sellers in Maruti Suzuki India's line-up but also among the top 10 selling cars in the country for last month.

As of October 2016, Maruti Suzuki India has sold over 60,000 unit of the Vitara Brezza in India and hopes to reach the 1 lakh sales mark by the end of this year. In fact, these numbers are essentially back logs that the carmaker hasn't been able to deliver due to production crunches. Also currently, the Vitara Brezza comes with a waiting period ranging from 6 to 10 months depending on the variant that you choose. As of now, the carmaker is working on optimising its production to deliver its cars within the committed time frame.

Coming to the car itself, the Vitara Brezza is the first sub-4 metres SUV to come out of Maruti Suzuki's stable. The car is powered by a 1.3-litre DDIS engine the makes 89bhp and develops 200Nm of peak torque. The diesel motor comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Maruti Suzuki is also working on an AMT version of the car, which will come to India soon.
