A man from Maharashtra has built a four-wheeler using scrap metal, and this unique creation has caught the attention of Mahindra Group Chairman, Anand Mahindra. According to the YouTube channel Historicano, Dattatraya Lohar managed to build the vehicle despite having little education only to fulfil his son's wish. This innovative creation has impressed Anand Mahindra, and he was quick to share the video on his official Twitter account. He shared the video by saying, "This clearly doesn't meet with any of the regulations but I will never cease to admire the ingenuity and 'more with less' capabilities of our people. And their passion for mobility-not to mention the familiar front grille."

A 45-second video shows Dattatraya Lohar, a blacksmith from Maharashtra's Devrashtre village, demonstrating how the vehicle works. The vehicle has been made with an investment of just Rs. 60,000. It employs a kick-start mechanism specifically seen on two-wheelers only. It is a left-hand drive that has been built using old and abandoned car parts.

In another tweet, Anand Mahindra said that as the vehicle doesn't comply with the regulations, the local authorities will stop it from plying on the roads. Rewarding him for his innovative creation, the Mahindra Group Chairman would personally offer Dattatraya Lohar a Bolero in exchange. And his creation will be put on display at Mahindra Research Valley as an inspiration to others.

He said, “Local authorities will sooner or later stop him from plying the vehicle since it flouts regulations. I'll personally offer him a Bolero in exchange. His creation can be displayed at MahindraResearchValley to inspire us, since ‘resourcefulness' means doing more with less resources.”

The video has gone viral with praises poured in for Lohar's innovative creation, and Anand Mahindra's tweet received over 14,000 likes, over 1300 retweets and a ton of comments. Smart innovations have often caught the attention of the Mahindra Group chairman.
