Mahindra's upcoming MPV, codenamed U321, has been undergoing some serious testing and today we got to see another prototype model being put through its paces. We caught the test mule of the Mahindra U321 somewhere on the outskirts of Chennai and like the previously seen prototypes, this one too is still heavily covered in camouflage. This particular test mule also gets a different set of alloy wheels, which appear to be temporary units, unlike the production ones we saw in an earlier test mule.

Mahindra has been extremely quiet about this all-new upcoming 7/8-seater MPV, which could mean that the company still has a lot of work to do before ready to introduce the Toyota Innova Crysta rival. Like its current flagship, the XUV500, and its smallest offering, the KUV100, the upcoming MPV will also be based in the Mahindra's tried and tested monocoque chassis and will also come with a bunch of premium features and equipment.

Visually, there's not a lot to talk about the MPV, thanks to all this camouflage, but, we do know about certain exterior features that the MPV will get. For instance, the front section will be dominated by the wide grille with chrome-tooth-like styling elements, large wraparound headlamps with projector lights and large angular foglamps with LED DRLs. The production version of the MPV is also likely to get a set of dual tone diamond alloy wheels, large outside rear-view mirrors with integrated turn signal lights and vertically stacked LED taillamps and a large tailgate.

We also got to see the cabin of the upcoming MPV is one of the earlier spy images and based on those we have to say, the U321 will come with a well-laid-out cabin with piano black panel dashboard panel, new touchscreen infotainment system, dual tone interior, new steering wheel and more. On the engine front, the MPV could feature an all-new 1.6-litre diesel engine along with a petrol unit. The engines are likely to come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and an optional 6-speed automatic transmission.
