Mahindra XUV700 Bookings Reach Close To 1 Lakh Mark

The Mahindra XUV700 has been a runaway success for the Indian automaker. The company bagged over 70,000 bookings for its new flagship SUV before Diwali last year and now it has received around 1 lakh bookings for the same. That said, the waiting period for the new SUV has also gone up to over six months in tier 2 cities, depending on the variant and drivetrain combination. The company had already despatched 14,000 units of the Mahindra XUV700 by January 2022 and has expedited its production to meet the growing demand for the SUV.

Few variants of the Mahindra XUV700 attracts a waiting period of over six months.

Bookings for the new Mahindra SUV were first opened on October 7, 2021, and in just 57 minutes, the company received an overwhelming 25,000 bookings for the XUV 700. The next day, on October 8, 2021, the company again received over 25,000 bookings in just two hours of the booking window opening, thus crossing the 50,000 bookings milestone in just two days, giving the company a business of over Rs. 10,000 crore. The company said that deliveries happened in a combination of parameters including the quantum of bookings at city and dealer level, the ratio of online and dealer bookings and variant-level production feasibility based on supply chain constraints. The delivery timelines were communicated to customers by their respective dealerships for both petrol and diesel variants.

Deliveries of the XUV700 petrol were prioritised.

The petrol versions of the Mahindra XUV700 have been prioritised and their deliveries started in the last week of October itself, while deliveries for the diesel version began towards the end of November 2021.
