  • XUV500 AT now gets push-button start/stop system & passive keyless entry
  • The features won't be available in the W8 automatic variant of the XUV500
  • Rest all features and equipment remain unchanged
Mahindra XUV500, the popular SUV from the home-grown utility vehicle manufacturer, has recently got two new features added to its equipment list. Added to the range topping W10 automatic variant, the two new features include - push-button start & stop system and passive keyless entry. Mahindra gave a miss to both these features when the company launched the XUV500 automatic last year, which was a wrong move considering the W10 manual variant of the XUV500 already comes with both.

Additionally, Mahindra is offering neither of these two features in the W8 automatic variant of the XUV500, which again seems like an oversight by Mahindra, considering even the W8 manual variant of the XUV500 gets both the features. That said, with these two new additions, the top-of-the-line XUV500 AT will now get a smart key in place of the common flip-out type key along with the request buttons on the front door handles.

Apart from these additions, the SUV remains completely unchanged continuing with the same features that include - projector headlamps, daytime running lights, multi-functional steering wheel, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, electric sunroof, hill-hold and hill-descent control, six airbags and ABS with EBD among others.

Under the hood, the XUV500 AT comes powered by the carmaker's popular 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that churns out 140bhp and develops 330Nm of peak torque. The XUV500 that is retailed in Delhi and NCR, on the other hand, comes with the company's 1.99-litre mHawk diesel motor that offers the same 140bhp and develops a bit less torque of 320Nm. Transmission duties in both the versions are handled by a responsive Aisin sourced 6-speed automatic gearbox, which we spoke about in our review.

Mahindra hasn't revised the prices of the XUV500 AT models, and the vehicle continues to be retailed at Rs. 17.08 lakh for the FWD variant and Rs. 18.17 lakh for the AWD (both ex-showroom, Mumbai) and Rs. 17.33 lakh for the FWD variant (ex-showroom, Delhi).
