Mahindra NuvoSport vs Rivals: Specifications Comparison

One must note that the Mahindra TUV300 figures on this list for a couple of reasons; first, both SUVs are based on the same ladder-frame chassis as the Mahindra Scorpio. Second, TUV300 and Nuvo Sport will share a handful of features.
Design & Dimensions
The Mahindra NuvoSport sub-compact SUV is based on the same design platform as the new Mahindra Scorpio. The SUV now gets a more beefy and upright front end with some major style additions like DRLs, new headlamps, redesigned grille and a new front bumper that gives it a more appealing and SUV-like stance. As for the dimensions the Nuvo Sport is similar to the Quanto measure 3998mm in length, 1850mm in width, and 1895mm in height. The SUV comes with a wheelbase of 2760mm and a ground clearance of 180 mm.
The Maruti Vitara Brezza on the other hand looks more proportionate and more stylish compared to its competitors. The Vitara Brezza comes with dual tone body colour option with projector lamps, guide lights and better style cues. In terms of dimensions, Brezza is the most compact at 3995mm in length, 1790mm in width, and 1640mm in height. The wheelbase of the car is measured at 2500mm and higher ground clearance of 198mm.
The Ford EcoSport is right up besides the Vitara Brezza with sleeker design language and exterior offerings like DRLs, stylish headlamps and better built quality among all four. Dimensionally the SUV is longer than all four models at 3999mm but falls back when it comes to width and height, measured at 1765mm and 1708mm respectively. EcoSport offers a generous wheelbase of 2520mm and the highest ground clearance of 200mm.

The Mahindra TUV300 comes with a more true blue SUV-like appearance when compared to all four. Dimensionally it is the biggest except for its length that measures 3995mm, while the width and height measure at 1835mm and 1839mm, respectively. Mahindra TUV300 also boasts of the longest wheelbase among the three at 2680mm and a decent ground clearance of 190mm.
Features
On feature front there is yet a lot to know about the new Mahindra Nuvo Sport but you can expect to see a new well-designed cabin with decent quality upholstery, a well laid out dashboard with a multi-functional steering in the top-of-the-line variants along with an infotainment system and likely offer a monochrome display as seen in the KUV100 or the TUV300. It is also the only other SUV apart from the TUV300 to come with a 7-seater setting.
The Maruti Brezza comes with upmarket features a touchscreen infotainment system with SmartPlay and Apple CarPlay with navigation, keyless entry with push button start, cruise control, cooled upper glovebox, sliding front armrest and a reverse parking camera. On safety front the car comes with a driver-side as standard and includes front passenger airbags and ABS with EBD as an option even on base variants.
The Ford EcoSport offers similar features including a multimedia system coupled with a screen, Bluetooth connectivity, automatic climate control, key-less entry, steering mounted controls, new fog lamps, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel and vehicle start-stop button. On the safety front, the vehicle gets 6 airbags on top-spec variants, Anti-lock braking system (ABS) and rear parking sensors.
The Mahindra TUV300 comes with follow-me-home and lead-me-to-vehicle headlamps, a twin-pod instrument cluster, intelligent 2-DIN infotainment system with display screen, Bluetooth, USB and AUX connectivity, Mahindra BLUE SENSE, driver information system (DIS), voice messaging system (VMS), micro-hybrid technology and steering mounted audio and telephony controls. As for safety features, the TUV300 comes with driver and co-passenger airbags along with ABS and EBD.
Engine
The new Mahindra Nuvo Sport will continue to be powered by the same 1.5-litre diesel engine that does duty in the Quanto. Another major addition to the drivetrain will be an AMT gearbox, similar to the one we saw in the TUV300. Transmission options will also include a 5-speed manual gearbox. The power figures are also expected to remain the same at 100bhp and 240Nm of peak torque.
In retrospect, the Maruti Vitara Brezza is also powered by a single 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine that produces a maximum of 88.5bhp and a peak toque of 200Nm. Transmission duties will be performed by a 5-speed manual gearbox. On the other hand the Ford EcoSport is the most powerful among all four and comes with its 1.5-litre diesel engine that churns out 99bhp and 205Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated to 5-speed manual gearbox as well.

At the same time the Mahindra TUV300 is powered by the new 1.5-litre mHawk80 diesel engine that comes in two power tunes for manual and AMT variants. The manual variant makes 84bhp, whereas the one paired to the AMT unit churns out 81bhp. Both versions develop a peak torque of 230Nm.
