Mad Max' Bugatti Chiron is the Wasteland's Biggest Gas Guzzler
Highlights
A Mad Max-inspired aggressive, off-road Bugatti Chiron supercar rendering was just posted on Instagram by user @demetr0s designs. This Chiron has been redesigned, with nearly every aspect of the vehicle altered. Similarly, the car's role has been radically altered, and it now tries to serve a very different purpose than a conventional Bugatti Chiron. While performance figures are unknown, a few signs in the image suggest this car might be much more powerful than a conventional Bugatti Chiron.
The Bugatti Chiron is a magnificent piece of machinery. It's about two tonnes in weight, yet it can reach 60 mph faster than a fighter jet. That's completely absurd because the Chiron isn't just any supercar; it's a true grand touring hypercar with an ultra-luxurious cabin and a very powerful engine. It's the only sixteen-cylinder automobile remaining on the market, adding to its rarity.
The Chiron is many people's fantasy automobile, and at a starting price of $3 million, it will only ever be owned by the world's wealthiest. As a result, just 500 automobiles will be produced. Here's why millionaires like the Chiron above other hypercars.
Speed
The peak speed of the Chiron is incredible. It's restricted to 261 mph on the basic Chiron. The Chiron achieved a top speed of 249 mph in 32.6 seconds in 2017. That test, however, demonstrated not only how quick the Chiron is but also how effective its brakes are. The Chiron was able to accelerate from 249 mph to zero in 9.4 seconds. A Toyota Corolla Hybrid Sedan takes longer to reach sixty miles per hour.
On the other hand, Bugatti was not yet ready to give up. Last year, they released the SuperSport, a quicker version of the Chiron that can reach over 300 mph. Due to the limitations of the tyres, consumers will never be able to exceed 300 mph. Like with anything, if you pay a little more, there will always be a loophole. Easily one of the world's quickest sports cars.
Engine
The Bugatti Chiron produces 1479 horsepower or 1578 horsepower in the SuperSport variant. The torque is more than double that of a Lamborghini Aventador, at 1180 lb-ft. There is no official torque figure for the SuperSport because it has so much. Both cars are powered by the W16 quad-turbo, 8-litre, 64-valve engine.
The W16 is the result of combining two V8s. It features ten radiators and four turbochargers. It's a silky-smooth engine with seamless power delivery. The engine is so strong that the Chiron requires the largest clutch ever installed in a car, and it's just one of the little-known facts about the Chiron.
Aggressive Aesthetics
The artist has altered the automobile to fit with the terrain of enormous stones and desert as far as the eye can see to make it better appropriate for this area. The spiky metal bull-bar in the front and the extended, upward-reaching exhaust pipes are the two most noticeable characteristics of the Chiron. The car's brownish colour suggests rust and decay, contributing to the car's post-apocalyptic feel.
The vehicle also sits higher than a conventional Chiron, thanks to the car's big mud tyres and off-road suspension, which boost the chassis substantially. The car's bigger fender flares and protective metal caging on the windshield are even more suggestive of Mad Max vehicles, elevating it from an off-road vehicle to a truly post-apocalyptic weapon of survival.
The two huge superchargers at the top of the Chiron are even more intriguing. The W16 engine appears to have been relocated to the car's roof, allowing for the installation of two blower-style superchargers. The performance capabilities, especially power and torque, are likely to be significantly higher than the factory-specified 1,500 horsepower and 1180 lb-ft of torque.
Exclusivity
A new Chiron isn't something you can go out and purchase. There's a lengthy procedure involved, and it will take two years from the moment you place your order to receive your new Chiron. It also includes a visit to the Bugatti facility in Molsheim, France. Only 500 automobiles will be manufactured, and 270 have already been sold.
Before the first Chirons were delivered to a client in 2016, 200 Chirons had already been sold. Only seventy additional Chirons have been sold after four years. Bugatti is particular about who they sell its vehicles to, and it has nothing to do with wealth. There are at least fifteen regulations to follow when it comes to buying a Bugatti.
