NASCAR racing is synonymous with adrenaline and excitement, and the circuit's safety cars have always been immensely popular amongst fans too. In a departure from tradition, Ford will be introducing its Ford Fusion Energi for pacing the field at the International Speedway NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race weekends in Michigan. This will travel at speeds exceeding 100 mph.
NASCAR racing season has seen the Chevrolet Camaro pacing the field for the Xfinity Series. Another Chevrolet Silverado pick-up has also been seen fulfilling the safety car duties at NASCAR. The Daytona 500 Corvette Stingray pace car or safety car has been a key attraction at NASCAR as well. The Ford Mustang Mach-E, the fully-electric SUV, has also debuted at the Talladega Superspeedway NASCAR Cup Series race. This is the second time that Ford got an electric vehicle to pace any NASCAR racing event, after it used an electric variant of the Focus to carry out all safety/pace car duties at the Richmond Raceway for another Cup Series race.
Ford has always innovated at NASCAR in terms of its pace cars and Chevrolet is not too far behind.
