Latest Honda Amaze Facelift Teaser Reveals New LED Taillamps

The 2021 Honda Amaze facelift is all set to go on sale in India on August 18, and ahead of its official launch, the carmaker has put out a new teaser revealing the car's new LED taillamps. The new teaser comes in just days after the company released a separate teaser revealing that the updated subcompact sedan will also come with LED projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps. Both these features were among equipment the Honda Amaze sedan lacked compared to its immediate rivals like - Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Hyundai Aura.

The new LED taillamps in question here retain the basic design of the Amaze's taillamps, but they now come with new twin-C-shaped signature LED lights, giving the car a distinctive look. Also, based on previously seen spy photos, the updated Honda Amaze will come with LED front fog lamps with sleek chrome garnish, a revised chrome-accented grille, and restyled bumpers. The car will also get new 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, chrome outer door handles, and possibly, a restyled rear bumper as well.

As for the cabin, the new Amaze's interior will largely remain identical to the outgoing model. However, it will get new fabric upholstery, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, voice command activation, rear parking camera with multi-view and guidelines, push-button start, automatic AC, and more.

Powertrain wise, the car is expected to remain unchanged, offering the same petrol and diesel engines. The former, a 1.2-litre i-VTEC unit, is tuned to make 89 bhp and 110 Nm of peak torque. Whereas, the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor develops 99 bhp and 200 Nm of power figures. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard along with an optional CVT automatic. Do note, the diesel CVT version makes only 79 bhp and 160 Nm. A few leaked brochure pictures also reveal that the subcompact sedan will be offered in three trims - E, S and VX.
