  • Updated Urus to get more aggressive looks over outgoing model
  • 4.0-litre V8 to be carried over though likely to develop more power
  • Plug-in-hybrid variant also in the works

Lamborghini is set to debut three new models before the end of the year, one of which is set to be the recently teased Huracan Sterrato. The company has now teased the second new model, the facelift of its hot-selling Urus SUV. Teased in a short video, the camouflaged SUV is seen running up the Pikes Peak hill climb suggesting that Lamborghini could be looking to set a new hill climb record with the upcoming facelift.

The teaser video provides a brief glimpse of the SUV’s front revealing a few cosmetic updates the most prominent of which is the front bumper. The headlamps too look to have been tweaked while at the rear bumper too appears to be new. Lamborghini has been testing the updated Urus for a while now and reports that the new model could also take on the Evo suffix like with the Huracan.

Coming to the engine department, Lamborghini has also been working on a plug-in hybrid variant of the Urus alongside the standard SUV. While Lamborghini has said it will reveal three new models before the end of 2022 it is not yet known if the PHEV and standard Urus would be considered as two separate models.

As before the standard Urus is set to retain the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 from the outgoing Urus with power and torque figures likely to see an upward revision in a bid to make the SUV even more potent. The plug-in hybrid meanwhile will pair the V8 with an onboard battery pack and electric motors to boost performance.

Reports suggest that the Urus facelift could debut later this month though Lamborghini itself is yet to provide an official date.
