La French - The Cars and the Logos
Highlights
The French have given us some of the most well-renowned cars throughout history. The logos for these brands are simple yet royal at the same time. A lot of dedication, creativity, and hard work go into making logos that are instantly recognizable. A lot of trust is built upon brand recognition which is why logos need to be memorable. We shall take a look at some of the most iconic French car logos and admire their beauty!
Bugatti
1909 to Present
A lot of discussion takes place around the 60 red dots that occupy the white border around the Bugatti logo. Some believe that those 60 dots symbolize safety wires, while others believe the dots are pearls. The white color of the “BUGGATI” name brings out the beauty and elegance in the red underneath the font.
Renault
1899 to Present
The logo for one of the most well-known brands around the world has no factual meaning. Many people have tried to figure out the meaning behind the “rhombus” design, but none have been successful. Many believe the logo symbolizes symmetry, while others argue that the rhombus signifies the ever-changing designs of the cars.
Peugeot
1896 to Present
The original logo consisted of an entire lion's body. The logo symbolised strength, agility, speed, and elegance – things that define the brand. However, recently, the logo has undergone a massive change. The entire body has been swapped for a more refined lion head that is aesthetically appealing and menacing at the same time.
Citroen
1919 to Present
There are two salient ways to look at the logo. The first way is to imagine the Vs as double helical gears. This logo honors the engineering background of Andre-Gustave Citroen, the founder of Citroen. The second way is to look at the logo as 2 Vs turned upside down or two arrows pointing upwards.
Alpine
1955 to Present
The company's logo provides a sense of geometric brilliance. The simple and clean lines make up the “A” symbolizing “Alpine”. The color scheme includes the A in blue, radiating on a white background. The lines that make up the entire symbol symbolise growth, innovation, and a sense of going up.
Venturi
1984 to Present
The thin red line makes an awesome V, which stands for Venturi. Often, the logo is seen with a bird and the sun in the background.
Aixam
1983 to Present
The sports car brand has a pretty simple and straightforward logo. A big “A” is etched onto the middle of a circle – the A stands for Aixam.
Ligier
1968 to Present
The design of the logo is very easy to understand. 2 flags are present on the logo – the French national flag as well as the pitstop flag used in car racing.
