Earlier this week, we had informed about the victory of Sahara Force India Academy Racer, Jehan Daruvala, who claimed his maiden win in the Toyota Racing Series. Even though Jehan's initial performance was off the pace, he soon bucked up and won the feature race - The Lady Wigram Trophy - last weekend. Continuing his winning spree, this weekend Jehan bagged his 2nd consecutive victory.

Apparently this young Formula Car Racer had the fastest lap of the race and won ahead of former World Karting Champion, Lando Norris of the United Kingdom. It is believed that after his maiden victory last weekend Jehan was high on confidence and seemed much more comfortable with the car at the Teretonga Park Raceway. It was noticed that Jehan improved through the practice sessions and was on top of the time sheets in the final practice.

The initial Qualifying 1 race between Jehan Daruvala & Lando Norris was extremely close with Jehan a mere 0.04 seconds behind Norris who won the pole position in 53.325 seconds. Behind him was Antoni Ptak of Poland who was at the third position. Jehan made one of his best starts so far, as the lights went out under damp conditions. He overtook Lando into the first corner & managed to hold the lead for Lap 1. However, Lando was on a charge and was able to overtake Jehan at the beginning of the second lap.

The race started to see some major twists and turns when the safety car was deployed. At the restart Jehan had some tough time managing home racer Brendon Leitch but continued to be ahead of him. Despite of the fact that Jehan & Lando were close, Jehan was unable to mount a challenge over the next few laps. Soon the race saw one incident after another, which caused the race to be red, flagged twice. At the last restart, Jehan made a bold move around the outside of Lando, into the first corner which brought him to the pole position and Jehan was comfortable for the next two laps.

The final lap was all the interesting when Norris closed in on Jehan, right up to the rear of his car. Though it was quite intimidating for him Jehan soaked in the pressure well and kept Lando behind with smart defensive driving. Jehan won his 2nd consecutive race as he crossed the line 0.3 seconds ahead of Lando.

Commenting on his victory Jehan said, "We have worked hard collectively as a team. The big difference for me was the start which I got right. It was a close race with Lando and I enjoyed fighting with him throughout. My grid positions for the next 2 races will be fourth & seventh which is not ideal, but I need to stay focused & make the most of the situation"
