Jaguar and Land Rover have announced the creation of a Special Operations division which will meet the "increasing expectations of today's most discerning and enthusiastic car customers." The Special Operations division will be based out of a new technical centre and employ a team of 150 Jaguar Land Rover specialists.
Jaguar and Land Rover are working towards equipping the centre with a customer commissioning suite, a fully automated paint facility and Formula 1-inspired workshops. The new division will specialize in creating luxury and high performance models as well as limited edition collector cars and halo vehicles. The operations team will also service and restore classic Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles.
There will also be a new heritage vehicle workshop, in Coventry, that will service and restore classic vehicles as well as build the recently announced lightweight E-Type. Clearly, Jaguar and Land Rover want to please not only their current generation of owners but also those that were Jaguar and Land Rover loyalists.
