Highlights
India Yamaha Motor Pvt Ltd has reported a 44 per cent growth rate in domestic sales in March, as compared to the same period last year. In all, the company sold 60,032 units in March 2016 as against 41,640 units sold in March last year.
"Though the Indian two wheeler market has seen a moderate growth of around 9% in the first quarter of 2016 as compared to the first quarter of last year, Yamaha has continued to ride the growth curve by marking a solid 47% sales growth during this period. Yamaha as a brand has managed to win the trust of its customers in sales and after sales activities by offering them an unforgettable experience of the brand," said Roy Kurian, Vice President - Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt Ltd.
Yamaha maintains the rise in sales in the domestic market (which includes Nepal as well), is due to the increasing focus on expanding Yamaha's presence in Tier II and Tier III cities. Yamaha has also ramped up its ongoing customer-centric activities and product line up including the Fascino and FZ series.
