It was at the Tucson launch that Hyundai announced about the company reaching a production milestone of 7 million. And finally, the company rolled out the top of the trim, white Creta Automatic which was its 7 millionth car produced at its state of the art facility in Sriperumpudur near Chennai.

Hyundai Motors managed to achieve this feat in a record time of under 18 years of commercial operation. In fact, the company has proved that it can cross the 1 million mile stone, at an average of every 18 months.

If we turn back the clock, Hyundai's first million car to roll out of the production line was a Santro, in 2006 and this was just 8 years after commencement of commercial production in India. Post which we saw the 5 millionth car off the production line in October 2013.

Y.K Koo, Managing Director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India Limited said, "HMIL has always set new benchmarks in terms of quality and customer delight by introducing new products with new technology and design to the Indian market, demonstrating superior manufacturing prowess. Our 'Made in India' products have impressed global and Indian customers alike. I thank each one for his commitment towards making HUYNDAI, the most loved and trusted brand in India."

In fact going by the current projections, Hyundai plans to roll out its 10 millionth car in India by 2021.
