Hyundai Motor Company has finally taken the curtain off its first electric sedan, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 electric sedan, or the Hyundai Ioniq 6 Electrified Streamliner as the South Koran giant calls it. Jaehoon Chang, President & CEO, Hyundai Motor Company, at the digital reveal of the electric car said, “Ioniq 6 is the next ambitious step forward in Hyundai Motor's strategy to accelerate its transition to electrification and into a position as a global leader in EVs.” The new Hyundai Ioniq 6 electric sedan is the second electric vehicle in the company's portfolio, joining the Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric crossover. Hyundai is slated to begin production of the Ioniq 6 electric sedan in the third quarter of 2022, with a market launch scheduled for next year.
The Parametric Pixel accents, including digital headlights and taillights along with angular bumper inserts, look neat.

Speaking of design, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 electric sedan continues to build on the funky styling we saw on the Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric crossover, and according to the Head of Hyundai Design Center, SangYup Lee, the car is the result of close cooperation between engineers and designers. He says, “Ioniq 6 connects an emotional convergence of functionality with aesthetics. The distinctive streamlined design is the result of close cooperation between engineers and designers, with obsessive attention to detail and customer-centric values at the core. We have created the Ioniq 6 as a mindful cocoon that offers personalized places for all.”
The rear shares a strong resemblance to the Porsche Taycan with an almost identical spoiler just below the rear window.

The four-door Hyundai Ioniq 6 electric sedan in its swooping fastback design has a severe presence while the low, rounded stance helps in aero and so does the tapered roofline and squared-off bumpers around the body for a drag coefficient of just 0.21. The Parametric Pixel accents, including digital headlights and taillights along with angular bumper inserts, look neat. The profile looks like a combination of a 911 with a dash of Cadillac tossed to entice attention. The rear shares a strong resemblance to the Porsche Taycan with an almost identical spoiler just below the rear window. Hyundai Ioniq 6 electric sedan is available in 12 exterior colors- including Gravity Gold Matte, Abyss Black Pearl, Serenity White Pearl, Curated Silver Metallic, Nocturne Gray Metallic, Nocturne Gray Matte, Transmission Blue Pearl, Biophilic Blue Pearl, Ultimate Red Metallic, Digital Green Pearl, Digital Green Matte, and Byte Blue.
You get a modular touchscreen dashboard that integrates a 12-inch full-touch infotainment display and a 12-inch digital cluster.

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 electric sedan takes advantage of E-GMP to provide an extremely long, 2,950 mm wheelbase, supported by a choice of 20-inch or 18-inch wheels. With an overall length of 4,855 mm, Hyundai Ioniq 6 electric sedan's 1,880 mm width and 1,495 mm height gives it a distinctively sleek and stylish appearance. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 electric sedan is available with a range of drive motors and battery packs. A long-range 77.4 kWh battery can be mated with two electric motor layouts, either rear-wheel-drive (RWD) or all-wheel-drive (AWD).
For the interior, there are four colors available- Dark Gray with Light Gray, Dark Olive Green with Light Gray, Black with Pale Brown and Black.

The top-of-the-line dual motor setup is an AWD option producing a combined power output of 322 bhp and 605 Nm of torque. This configuration can go from 0 kmph to 100 kmph in 5.1 seconds. It is also the most energy-efficient vehicle in the market with the energy consumption of the 53 kWh standard battery estimated to be under 14 kWh/100 km, according to WLTP. With a 350 kW charger, Hyundai Ioniq 6 electric sedan can charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in just 18 minutes.
Inside, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 electric sedan follows the minimalistic approach and features a neatly stacked, clutter-free, touch-based heavy cabin.

The premium Bose sound system's eight speakers, including a subwoofer, are placed throughout the vehicle. The navigation system comes with Bluelink Infotainment/Map updates.
