Hyundai i20 Facelift Spotted Completely Undisguised Before Launch

Possibly one of the most awaited launches of the 2018 Auto Expo is the Hyundai i20 Facelift. And now we have pictures of the brand new car with no camouflage for the very first time. Incidentally, the India launch at the 2018 Indian Auto Expo will also be the global premier of the new facelift i20. Jumping straight into the changes, although we expected the i20 to go through major updates in terms of the grille, headlamps and front bumper, the changes seem to be not as extensive. The headlights for instance are very similar to the one available on the current car and still gets a set of LED daytime running lights. The grille however is much larger and is in line with the new global Hyundai design language. The front bumper is now sportier though with an inbuilt lip spoiler that runs end to end just below the fog lamp and grille cluster.

Around the rear, the facelift Hyundai i20 gets a lot more upgrades and changes than the front. The tail lights are new and get a new lighting pattern which is more horizontal as compared to the V-shaped one in the past. The bumper is also different and again, a lot sportier in terms of its black plastic placement. The big change though is with the rear tail gate which is all new. The number plate placement has now moved from the bumper low down up onto the tail gate in a more conventional position. Of course, as expected, the new Hyundai i20 Facelift will also get parking sensors and a rear view parking camera.

The interior though stays largely unchanged. The AC vents now have a brushed silver surround around them but the beige and grey interior combination continues. The infotainment cluster however is all new and features a larger touchscreen panel. Expect the i20 to come packed and loaded with inbuilt navigation, Apple Carplay and Android Auto like earlier but with a nicer and more responsive screen.

The Hyundai i20 Facelift will also get a new set of alloy wheels. Although the split 4-spoke (or 8 spoke) ones on the current car are handsome, the new split 5-spoke wheels look a lot more current. The top of the line model will continue to get 16-inch ones (like seen here in the picture) while the lower spec models will get either 15-inch alloy or 15-inch steel wheels.
