Highlights

Hyundai India, the country's second largest carmaker, is all set to launch its first crossover in India on March 18, 2015. To be called the i20 Active, the vehicle is based on the new-gen i20 that is already doing great business for the South Korean carmaker here. The vehicle has been designed at Hyundai Motor's Design Centre Europe in Russelsheim, Germany.

When compared to the i20 hatchback, the i20 Crossover gets slightly sportier exterior and interior. The car's front fascia gets a new skid plate, new bumper with large fog lamps, projector head-lamps with daytime running lamps etc. The rear profile, too, gets some changes in the form of new bumper with circular reflector and silver skid plate. The i20 Active also gets bigger alloys, additional plastic body cladding, roof spoiler and roof rails.

In order to make it handle uneven roads in a much beter way, the car's ground clearance too has been increased. The cabin, too, might get new upholstery, updated infotainment system and few other features.

While there will be significant exterior and interior changes given to the car, it will get the same powertrains as the i20.
