- The Hyundai Creta continues to us the 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines
- The Hyundai Creta is expected to get a comprehensive upgrade next year
The Hyundai Creta is a popular seller in the compact SUV segment and automaker is ensuring to keep the model relevant amidst new competition. Hyundai India has silently introduced updates on the Creta with exterior and interior cosmetic upgrades. The SUV now gets a new 'Earth Brown' dual-tone paint scheme, while the roof is now painted black on select variants. The Korean carmaker has discontinued the pearl beige and red passion with phantom black paint options. Hyundai sells a little over 9000 units of the Creta every month in the country.

Inside, the Hyundai Creta also gets a new Luruxe brown cabin color pack that is available on the SX+ dual-tone variant. The pack adds new beige coloured fabric seats with brown inserts and contrast stitching. You also get leather wrapped steering with contrast stitching and brown-orange accents on the gear knob. The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that was introduced in April this year, continues as is and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Under the hood, the Hyundai Creta gets no changes with power coming from the same 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines. The diesel is also available with the 1.4-litre oil burner. All engines come paired to a 6-speed manual transmission, whereas only the 1.6-litre engines are available with both 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options.

Hyundai India launched the Creta compact SUV in 2015 and the model continues to be one of the top-sellers in the segment, despite the slightly premium price tag. However, the likes of the Jeep Compass and the upcoming Renault Captur are here to challenge the Creta's dominance. With the Captur all set to go on sale next month, the updates on the Creta should keep the model relevant amidst new competition. The Hyundai Creta is expected to get a comprehensive upgrade next year.
