How To Get Fancy Registration Number For Your Car

Motorheads love to customise their cars inside and out to make them an extension of their personality. Customisation not only gives them the desired outcome, it also increases the charm of the vehicle. Such vehicles become much more precious than their monetary value and give the owners a sense of achievement. That's why car owners don't mind going all the way with customisations, and get special car registration numbers to give their cars a unique identity. However, these number plates are not easy to get. Due to the popularity of these specialised number plates the government monetises them instead of giving them free of charge. You can buy such number plates at auctions by paying a one-time fee.
What is a specialised number plate?

For most motor enthusiasts getting a specialised car registration number is one of the top items in their bucket list. But for those who are new to this, a specialised number plate has a sequence of identical numbers like 1101 or 4444. They can also be a sequence of consecutive numbers like 786.
Individuals get these numbers to attract more attention to their set of wheels. They also do it for the art and creativity, along with the pride that comes with owning a one-of-a-kind vehicle. In many cases, it is due to belief in numerology or a family lucky number that causes people to register their cars with a specialised number plate.

How to acquire a fancy car registration number?
If you have decided to get a special number plate, it is important to know the procedure to acquire them. You can apply for the plate online this way:
- Register as a public user on the official website of Ministry of Road Transport and Highway (MoRTH).
- After registering you can pick your desired number from the available options.
- Then, you can pay the registration fee and booking fee for your car registration number.
- Look through the charges carefully. On completing the procedures you can place an official bid on your desired number.
- Wait for the results to show. If you win the bid, you can pay off the balance amount online. If the bid doesn't work in your favour, collect your dues and try again.
- On winning the bid, you will have to print and keep the allotment letter which is displayed on the screen once all procedures are complete.

You should also know that having a special number plate is just an aesthetic addition to your vehicle and doesn't come with additional benefits. In April 2019, the government mandated that all number plates must come with HSRP (High-Security Registration Plate) attached. This includes special number plates as well. Know about all the rules and enjoy your special car registration number freely.
