Highlights

It was earlier this morning that we reported about Nissan officially terminating their contract with Hover Automotive India and preparing to go solo in the Indian market. HAI however, in an official statement which has just been released to the press said that, "At Hover Automotive India Pvt Ltd (HAI), we would like to inform all concerned that negotiations with Nissan are ongoing at this stage and it is premature to say any agreement regarding termination has occurred."

Furthermore, the company says that it understands that Nissan wants to move out of the partnership quickly but this will be possible only with the cooperation and consent of HAI. Till such a time that the matter is resolved HAI expects to continue to be the sole and exclusive distributor for the Nissan brand of vehicles in India.

HAI goes ahead to make a statement that, "Nissan does not have any legal basis for the termination of services of its national sales company- Hover Automotive India Pvt Ltd in India. The management at HAI has taken strong exception to the announcement this morning by Nissan."

Nissan is eager to move out as it readies itself for to bring out the Datsun brand in India, but from the looks of it, Hover Automotive India still holds the key to the shackles.
