HOP Electric Mobility Launches Two Electric Scooters

HOP Electric Mobility, a Jaipur-based manufacturer of electric two-wheelers, has launched two new electric scooters. The HOP LEO has been priced at Rs. 72,500, while the HOP LYF has been priced at Rs. 65,500. The EV start-up says its vehicles are based on extensive R&D and have distinctive key features like high range of up to 125 km, 72V architecture, high performance motors to climb any slope with loading capacity of 180 kg, boot space of 19.5 litres as well as connected features like internet, GPS, mobile app and more.
The HOP LEO is offered in three variants, LEO Basic, LEO and LEO Extended. The electric scooter has a top speed of 60 km per hour, and comes with a claimed range of 125 km, with a dual 2X Lithium ion battery. The electric motor of the LEO Extended can provide mechanical power of up to 2.7 kW.
The second product, HOP LYF also has three variants, LYF Basic, LYF and LYF Extended. Like HOP LEO, the LYF model offers a 125 km range per charge with a dual 2X Lithium ion battery, and comes with a top speed of 50 kmph. The electric motor of LYF Extended has mechanical power of 2 kW.
According to Ketan Mehta, CEO and Founder of HOP Electric Mobility, "Since most millennials and now Gen Z individuals are now preferring sustainable yet convenient modes of transportation, these new product offerings will revolutionise the Indian e-mobility space. After months of R&D, our experts have furnished these two models with premium features and commendable battery range."
The electric mobility start-up is gearing up to launch at least five electric vehicles by the end of the current financial year. The company's upcoming electric motorcycle, HOP OXO 100, will offer 100 km range, and will have a top speed of 100 kmph, with a 7.2 kW (approximately 9.7 bhp) motor. The company is also planning to build charging stations starting from Jaipur and then further expanding it in other cities and states. The company is also planning to come up with a new electric vehicle segment, called the Hop Energy Network. The vehicles will have built-in battery swapping cum charging stations where the customer will be able to replace their discharged battery with a fully charged battery in just 30 seconds.
HOP's 40,000 square feet long manufacturing unit in Jaipur is equipped to produce 50,000 vehicles per year, expandable up to 1 lakh units. By the year 2022, the brand is planning to set up a new manufacturing unit in South India, which will have the capacity to produce a minimum of 5 lakh units per year.
