Honda's Vision GT Concept Makes Its Digital Debut
Highlights
Honda's new concept car is bound to turn some heads and it's called the Vision Gran Turismo. Honda released this new concept in the virtual world of the Gran Turismo Sport video game. The dramatic design complements the powerful engine that breathes under the hood. However, it isn't as dramatic as the rest of the Vision GT cars, like the McLaren Ultimate Vision GT perhaps, but according to the company it's fun.
The styling was penned by Honda's Los Angeles-based design studio, with final testing and development taking place in Japan. With a "Human Centered Design," the Honda Vision GT's aerodynamic properties were tested both on computer simulations as well as in the wind tunnel. Honda's design team sculpted a full-size model to ensure its aerodynamic properties were up to par.
As expected, the body is constructed entirely out of carbon fibre and the car is light at 899 kg. Power comes courtesy of a 2.0-liter DOHC-VTEC four-cylinder engine producing 403 horsepower and all that power is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission
Now, we wait for Honda to bring out a life size concept and of course a production version should follow but till then you can drive it in the game and get a feel of what to expect.
