Honda Jazz Beats City to Become Top-Selling Honda Car in July, 2015
Highlights
The early success of the Jazz must have surely given the confidence to the Japanese carmaker as the vehicle had failed miserably in its first inning. The new-generation Jazz was launched in India on July 8, 2015 with an all-new design and a diesel powertrain. The vehicle's diesel engine is the same 1.5-litre i-DTEC unit that powers other Honda diesel cars including the City, Amaze and Mobilio. The petrol engine, 1.2-litre i-VTEC, however was carried forward from the old model and received a CVT automatic gearbox with paddle-shifters.
These impressive sales figures also helped Honda Cars India outsell Mahindra & Mahindra in July to become the third largest selling carmaker in India. Mahindra & Mahindra sold a total of 14,556 units in July, 2015.
Speaking on the company's performance Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President - Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, "We are extremely delighted to receive a great consumer response for all new Jazz. We would like to thank our customers for the continuous support to all our models and are confident that we will continue to do well in respective segments.
