    India's second largest two-wheeler company Honda Motorcycles & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) has a reason to celebrate. The company has set a new milestone today by selling over 30 lakh units of CB Shine. The Honda CB Shine has become 'India's all time highest selling 125cc motorcycle' and also First Ever 125cc motorcycle to achieve 30 lakh unit mark.

    Globally as well, the CB Shine has become Honda Japan's top selling motorcycle across Honda's two-wheeler operations worldwide for the first time in the FY 13-14. Honda has today rolled out the 30th lakh CB Shine unit from its Tapukara, Rajasthan based plant.

    Launched in April 2006, the CB Shine quickly gained 9% market share with sales crossing 1.17 lakh units in its first year itself. In the year 2008-09, the CB Shine became the single largest selling 125cc bike, and then in October, 2010 the company sold 10 lakh units of the motorcycle.

    The company claims that "Since becoming segment leader, Honda's CB Shine leadership over nearest competitor model has consistently grown from 9% in FY'2008-09 to 61% in 2013-14. In volume terms, sales gap with nearest competitor has widened from 22,000 units to 2.81 lac units in FY'13-14, clearly indicating the overwhelming customer trust in CB Shine."
