Honda Announces Racing Team For Asia Road Racing Championship, Thailand Talent Cup

As the season of International racing is set to resume after two years of enforced inactivity, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India announced its international racing team for the 2022 season, as its young talents would participate in the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) and Thailand Talent Cup (TTC). Honda India's solo racing team, IDEMITSU Honda Racing India, will be spearheaded by rider Rajiv Sethu, and 20-year-old rider Senthil Kumar, both of whom have participated before in the road racing championship for Asia. For Thailand Talent Cup, Honda will pitch 16-year-old Kavin Quintal from Chennai and 15-year-old Sarthak Chavan from Pune.

IDEMITSU Honda Racing India will pit both Rajiv Sethu and Senthil Kumar in the Asia Production 250 cc class and are hoping for a top 10 finish. Rajiv Sethu has previously raced at the ARRC back in 2017 and showed remarkable consistency over the years, finishing at 46th place that year to 27th in 2018 and closing the 2019 season at 17th position with two top 10 and nine top 15 finishes. Senthil Kumar, on the other hand, started his ARRC journey in 2019, finishing at 30th place that year in the AP 250 class. In the previous year, Senthil showed tremendous promise as a debutant in the Thailand Talent Cup.

For the 2022 Thailand Talent Cup, Honda has pinned hopes on the racing duo of 2021 Honda India Talent Cup winner Kavin Quintal, and 2020 Honda India Talent Cup champion, Sarthak Chavan. Both riders are well versed with the Moto3 spec machine NSF250R and are confident of taking on the best of the Talent in the Asian region.
The 25th edition of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship will have a total of six rounds beginning with the official test and season opener at the Chang International Circuit (Thailand) on March 22, 2022. In May, the Sepang International Circuit (Malaysia) will host the second leg, while the host venue for Round 3 in July 2022 is yet to be confirmed, the 2022 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship will make its debut at the Sports land Sugo International Circuit (Japan) in August 2022. In September 2022, the Zhuhai International Circuit (China) will serve as the host for the penultimate round and the season is expected to wrap up again at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand in the month of November this year.
