Honda Aircraft Delivers the First HondaJet
Honda Aircraft Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Honda Motor Co., has begun deliveries of the HondaJet, with the company handing over the first aircraft to a customer at its headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Delivered in a tri-colour livery, the HondaJet is Honda's first commercial aircraft and the delivery of the jet comes less than a month after it received its final certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
"We are very excited to commence deliveries of the HondaJet, fulfilling Honda's commitment to advancing human mobility through innovation," said Honda Aircraft Company President and CEO Michimasa Fujino.
"Honda Aircraft has now extended this commitment skyward with the delivery of our first aircraft, and I hope we soon will begin to see many HondaJets at airports around the world," he added.
The company claims that the HondaJet is the world's most advanced light jet, and is also the fastest, highest-flying, quietest, and the most fuel-efficient in its class. The plane employs a unique Over-The-Wing Engine Mount (OTWEM) design configuration that dramatically improves performance and fuel efficiency by reducing aerodynamic drag.
The OTWEM design also reduces cabin sound, minimises ground-detected noise, and allows for the roomiest cabin in its class, the largest baggage capacity, and a fully-serviceable private aft lavatory.
The plane can travel at 420 knots true airspeed (KTAS) at 30,000 feet and can accommodate up to 6 passengers.
The HondaJet is available in 2 configurations, and has a private lavatory and an optional package which enables owners to control the audio system, lighting, cabin temperature, and electro-chromatic window shades from a mobile device.
The aircraft is also equipped with the most sophisticated glass flight deck available in any light business jet, a Honda-customised Garmin G3000.
Honda Aircraft, which was founded in 2006, is manufacturing the HondaJet at its headquarters in Greensboro. The aircraft is on sale in North America, South America, and Europe through the HondaJet dealer network, with the company boasting of a worldwide dealer network in 11 territories.
HondaJet dealers are equipped to support aircraft entry into service, together with a 90,000 square-foot customer service facility in Greensboro to support the dealer network with heavy maintenance, repair, and overhaul capabilities.
The company has taken care of pilot training as well, with sessions already being conducted for HondaJet customers with a full-motion, Level D flight training simulator installed at the Honda Aircraft Training Center in Greensboro.
