Hero XPulse 200 4 Valve: All You Need To Know

The Hero XPulse 200 has always been a very capable entry-level adventure motorcycle with real off-road ability. The XPulse 200 has become quite the popular machine with its versatility, light weight and nimble off-road capability. Now, Hero MotoCorp has updated the XPulse 200 to offer it more performance, as well as give it minor updates to introduce the XPulse 200 4 valve with fresh appeal, and better performance, courtesy a four-valve cylinder head of the updated engine. Here's a look at what all has changed on the new Hero XPulse 200 4 Valve.

The 200 cc, four-valve engine now makes 6 per cent more power and 5 per cent added torque. In numbers, it makes 19 bhp at 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 17.35 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The updated engine is said to ensure a relaxed and stress-free performance at high speeds.
Engine & Performance
As the name suggests, the Hero XPulse 200 is now equipped with a 200 cc, four-valve, oil-cooled engine which produces 19 bhp at 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 17.35 Nm at 6,500 rpm. With 6 per cent more power and 5 per cent added torque, the new engine is said to ensure a relaxed and stress-free performance at high speeds. According to Hero MotoCorp, the four-valve, oil-cooled engine provides better power across the mid and top-end speed range, but also offers stress free engine performance, even at high speeds, while keeping vibrations in check. For better heat management, the cooling system has been updated with a 7-fin oil cooler. The gear ratios have been updated as well for better tractability and acceleration, and the overall transmission has been improved.

The Hero XPulse 200 4 Valve continues to get long travel suspension with 190 mm travel up front, 220 mm ground clearance, and standard engine bash plate to take on rough terrain.
Suspension & Kit
The stock Hero XPulse 200 4 Valve features long suspension travel, with 190 mm travel up front, and 170 mm rear travel, with a 21-inch front wheel and 18-inch rear wheel. The XPulse 200 also comes with a standard aluminium skid plate that protects the engine, and a new toothed brake pedal for better grip, and an upswept exhaust to tackle water crossings with ease.
The dual-purpose tyres, 10-step adjustable mono-shock suspension, accessible seat height of 825 mm and high ground clearance of 220 mm provide decent off-road capability for all kinds of two-wheeled adventures. The XPulse 200 now comes with a standard luggage plate with bungee hooks to carry luggage even with a pillion passenger on board.
Rally Kit
The 2021 Hero XPulse 200 4 Valve will continue to get the Rally Kit to transform the stock bike into a more capable rally machine. The Rally Kit is road legal, and homologated for FMSCI approved motorsports events.
Improved Features, New Colours
The outgoing XPulse 200 was known to have a weak headlight throw, and this seems to have been addressed in the four-valve version. The enhanced LED headlight is said to offer better visibility at night. The bike continues to get features like a LCD instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, call alerts, turn-by-turn navigation. The Hero XPulse 200 4 Valve is now available in three new colour options, Trail Blue, Blitz Blue and Red Raid.
Price
The Hero XPulse 200 4 Valve has been priced at Rs. 1,28,150 (Ex-showroom, Delhi), and gets roughly a Rs. 5,000 increase in the ex-showroom price over the outgoing model.
