Highlights

Hero MotoCorp, country's largest two-wheeler maker, has increased prices of its bikes and scooters by 0.5 -1 per cent. The rise will help the company offset rising input costs. Since the hike is quite marginal, it should not impact the company's sales. In fact, this can help the company raise its profits marginally during the festive season and also control the rising input costs.

Though, almost every automaker is facing issues due to rising input costs, Hero MotoCorp is the only company that has announced the price hike and that too during the festive season. So, we expect other companies to increase their vehicle prices too albeit after Diwali.

That said, keeping in with the spirit of the festive season, Hero MotoCorp recently launched two new bikes - Splendor Pro Classic and Passion Pro TR at Rs 48,650 and 51,550 (ex-showroom, Delhi), respectively. The company also introduced its male-centric scooter - Maestro - in a range of new colours and graphics. However, the price of the scooter remains unchanged.
