Hero Electric Optima, NYX Roll Out From Mahindra’s Pithampur Plant

    Hero Electric has commenced the roll out of its electric scooters from the Mahindra Group’s Pithampur plant in Madhya Pradesh. The electric scooter company is rolling out its Nyx and Optima electric scooters from Mahindra’s facility as part of a broader 5-year partnership between the two companies. Aside from increasing the production capacity of Hero Electric the partnership is also set to provide both companies with a shared platform to develop the supply chain for their EVs as well as undertaking joint research and development for new technologies and products.

    Speaking on the announcement, Mr. Sohinder Gill, CEO, Hero Electric said, “Our 20 plus strong relationships with preferred partners in the field of charging, servicing, rapid charging, swapping etc are helping us build a robust EV ecosystem not only for us but for the whole EV category. The tie-up with Mahindra is one such alliance that we are proud of. The two teams have been working closely for seamless integration of the manufacturing process and offer to the customer the same level of global quality that are produced from our Ludhiana plant. With this tie up, we are now well on our way to the half a million capacity that we had planned few months back.”

    Hero Electric is rolling out the Nyx and the Optima from Mahindra's Pithampur facility.

    Hero Electric currently retails a range of electric scooters in India broadly divided into two broad categories – Comfort Speed and City Speed. The Comfort Speed range has a limited top speed of up to 25 kmph and does not require to be registered while the City Speed range is akin to your regular electric scooter requiring to be registered and maxing out at a top speed of 45 kmph with models for both private and commercial applications. The Optima and Nyx alongside the Photon makes up the company’s City Speed scooter line-up while the Comfort speed models include the Atria, Flash and Eddy.
