Harley-Davidson unveiled the production version of the American brand's first electric cruiser, the Harley-Davidson LiveWire during the celebrations of the brand's 115th anniversary. The production-ready LiveWire has been unveiled just a month after the announcement that the model will be launched next year. The bike is based on the Project LiveWire concept, which Harley-Davidson unveiled back in 2014, with a test tour around the world. Now, a completed model has been unveiled at the Harley-Davidson museum, giving a good idea of the model's components, and what to expect.

The LiveWire will come with a steel trellis frame, cast aluminium swingarm, and a belt drive, rear set pegs, Brembo calipers, and Showa suspension, with inverted forks and a rear monoshock. The LiveWire can be charged through the tank, and also from a wall socket with the help of the leads under the seat. The bike sports a full-colour TFT instrument panel with smartphone connectivity, so it can be paired over Bluetooth for calls, music, navigation and even bike diagnostics. So far, there are no further details on range, power or price, but according to Harley-Davidson, the LiveWire will come equipped with the latest rider aids, and it is expected to be a powerful performer.

The LiveWire has been designed at Harley-Davidson's Product Development Centre in Wisconsin and built at the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in York, Pennsylvania. Harley-Davidson intends to introduce a series of electric motorcycles in the next few years, and the LiveWire will be the first electricity-powered model in that range.
