Gopinath Munde's Death Leads Government to Review Indian Motor Vehicle Act
Highlights
After the untimely death of Mr. Gopinath Munde in a road accident, the Modi-led government is planning to make some amendments in the Indian Motor Vehicle Act 1988. If reports are to be believed, BJP's senior leader Nitin Gadkari called a meeting today, where he discussed the current Motor Vehicle Act and the changes it needs to control the growing number of road accident cases.
Out of all the points discussed in the meeting, one important suggestion was to cancel a person's driving license if he jumps red light thrice. All red lights will be connected to a server in order to monitor this. Moreover, the government will also study traffic laws of six different countries including America, England and Japan, and a proposal based upon the research will be drafted and passed soon.
Stay tuned for more updates on the amendments.
