Volkswagen previewed the upcoming T-Roc concept with a batch of sketches. We will see this concept in the flesh at the Geneva Motorshow.
The T-Roc is a three-door crossover which is 164 inches long, 72 inches wide and 59 inches tall and when you look it at it, your first impression is that it's an off-roader. But VW says that it is designed to feel home both on and off the road.
From the sketches we can see that the T-Roc boasts of muscular look and the slim front grille get the hexagonal inserts. The flared wheel arches and the angular 19-inch alloy wheels add to the ruggedness of this car and the high profile tyres simply make it look off-road ready. The T-Roc packs a removable two-piece carbon fiber roof that can be stored in the trunk for open-air motoring.
Inside is full of high-tech equipment such as a digital instrument cluster that includes an inclinometer and a tablet-like center console but more details will pour out once we see it in the flesh.
The T-Roc is powered by a 2.0-litre TDI engine good enough for 184bhp and this power will be transferred via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. It can sprint from 0-100km/h in 6.9 seconds and boasts of a top speed of 210km/h.
There are no hints yet if the T-Roc is just a design study or will see the light of day. But we are hoping that the T-Roc goes all the way to the assembly line.
