At the Geneva Motorshow, which starts next week, Bentley will be unveiling an updated version of the Continental GT Speed and adding a new powertrain into the Flying Spur.
I still haven't understood why Bentley thinks that the Continental GT is underpowered. But since it did, they are going to extract more power out of the 6.0-litre W12 that already exists under the hood of the car. The power in the Continental GT will now stand at 626bhp (an addition of 10bhp) while the torque figure stands at 820Nm torque (15 more than before)
With the power that the GT Speed coupe exudes, it makes it the fastest production Bentley ever with a top speed 332km/h. The convertible version of the GT Speed can hit 326km/h.
Bentley has added a few styling tweaks to the GT Speed like body-coloured front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser. It also gets dark-tint wheels, red painted brake calipers and new chrome 'Speed' badge fitted to the front fenders.
The Flying Spur too follows the Continental Gt's footsteps. Bentley will soon offer its Flying Spur sedan with a new V8 engine. The Flying Spur is already available in the W12 engine, and the new V8 offering will compliment it. The new V8 is tuned to provide 500bhp and 553Nm torque via the 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged mill. Similar to the W12, the Flying Spur V8 will employ an eight-speed transmission and all-wheel drive.
Bentley says that the Flying Spur V8 can go from a standstill to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds and hits a top speed of 295km/h.
We can't wait to see both the cars at the Geneva Motorshow.
