Geneva Motorshow: Maserati Alfieri Concept revealed
Highlights
Maserati has brought a sexy-looking concept to the Geneva Motorshow and this certainly hints at a new sports car that could see the light of production in the future. Named Alfieri in honor of one of the Maserati brothers who created the company a century ago, the concept looks absolutely stunning.
This 2+2 concept rides on a variant of the GranTurismo's with the powertrain borrowed from Maserati's big coupe. The 4.7-litre V8 churns out a hefty 460bhp and comes mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Maserati has kept it simple inside too and the simple, flowing lines enhance the TFT central and instrument display screens. Poltrona Frau analine leather and a copper-tone billet aluminum trim on the gearshift lever and clock just make things a little more elegant.
Maserati says that the Alfieri "boasts proportions that might well be archetypal for a future true sport car and certainly hint at the brand's stylistic intentions for the near future"
With some tweaks to make it road-ready, we may see the Alfieri whizz past us in real world conditions. Fingers crossed!
