Genesis has taken the wraps off a new concept, called Genesis X Speedium Coupe. This new concept is an evolution to the Genesis X concept unveiled last year. The design changes include an absence of a front grille, while LED lights mark the outline of the signature crest grille, giving it a futuristic look. The EV also gets an extended roof line, giving it a sport back style appeal. This design will also free up cabin space for rear passengers. The design of the Genesis X Speedium Coupe is very minimalist and clean with curves and lines flowing throughout the car, whilst also retaining Genesis' signature design cues, like the "Two Lines" headlights and tail lights.

The name Speedium was inspired by the Korean racetrack in the city of Inje and the "passion for motorsport it inspired in Genesis designers". The name also encapsulates Genesis' belief that the "emotional value of driving will remain strong in the era of electrification". Luc Donckerwolke, chief creative officer of Genesis said " This car is an open-door moment in Genesis' journey towards our future EV design". " This isn't a show car - it's a look into our design processes as we explore ideas for the next wave of EVs, one that incorporates Genesis' DNA", he added.

The brand plans to have a 6 model all-electric line up by 2030, and has promised that all of its new models will be EVs after 2025. The brand is also committed to go carbon-neutral by 2035. The design philosophy of the Genesis X Speedium Coupe will mark the basis of the upcoming EVs by Genesis in this decade, and it will be interesting to see how this design translates into different sized silhouettes.
