The launch of the X Speedium Coupe EV is part of the Genesis carbon neutrality plan. It wants to achieve carbon neutrality by 2035 by launching eight new EVs to reach 400,000 electric cars in annual sales. It already has the GV60 on sale which is based on the Kia EV6 and the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Later this year, it will launch the GV70, but in the future it will have a new design language with the X Speedium Coupe EV.
At the Monterey Car Week, Genesis revealed the new interior of the car which provides a blend of designs seen on the Porsche Panorama and the BMW i8. The design is also inspired by Korean culture which features a floating display with the console wrapping around the driver cockpit.
It also comes with quilted leather seats and door trim that reminds one of a classic sports car and a two tone interior that features a pine grove green driver seat.
