Fuel Prices Hiked Again After A Hiatus Of 2 Days; Petrol Breaches Rs. 106/Litre Mark In Delhi

Domestic fuel rates have jumped to new fresh all-time highs across the country. After a hiatus of two days, the state-run oil marketing companies have hiked petrol and diesel prices by 35 paise each in the national capital as per details listed on the Indian Oil's official website. Petrol prices in Delhi breached the Rs. 106/litre mark, currently retailing at Rs. 106.19 a litre. Diesel, on the other hand, too jumped from Rs. 94.57 per litre to Rs. 94.92 per litre after witnessing a steep hike of 35 paise. Fuel rates vary across the states due to value-added tax (VAT).

In the financial capital Mumbai, petrol has surpassed the Rs. 112-mark, currently priced at Rs. 112.11 a litre while diesel prices increased to Rs. 102.89 46 a litre, after a hike of 37 paise. Petrol in Chennai now costs Rs. 103.31 a litre while diesel retails at Rs. 99.26 a litre. Fuel rates in Kolkata have jumped to Rs. 106.77 a litre and Rs. 98.03 a litre, respectively. In Bengaluru, petrol is priced at Rs. 109.89 a litre, after a hike of 36 paise while diesel now costs Rs. 100.75 a litre. Petrol rates in Hyderabad currently stand at Rs. 110.46 a litre, while diesel retails at Rs. 103.56 a litre.

Fuel prices are the most expensive in the Sri Ganganagar district of Rajasthan. With the latest hike, petrol has breached the 118-mark, currently standing at Rs. 118.32 a litre while diesel too has surpassed the 109-mark, priced at Rs. 109.12 a litre. In Madhya Pradesh's Rewa and Anuppur districts, petrol prices on Saturday touched Rs. 117.23 a litre and Rs. 117.63 a litre, respectively. Diesel in these districts reached Rs. 106.39 a litre and Rs. 106.76 a litre, respectively. Customers in the Parbhani district of Maharashtra will now have to shell out Rs. 114.64 a litre and Rs. 103.75 a litre for petrol and diesel, respectively.
