Bringing an end to countless spy shots, speculations and teasers, the 2020 Land Rover Defender has been finally unveiled at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show in a completely new avatar. The off-roader looks familiar with the boxy proportions as that of the original, which ceased production in 2016 after 68 years since it was first introduced. Land Rover says the iconic SUV has been reimagined for the 21st century and is clever, capable and safe for all the family, making it a lot more versatile than its predecessor, and aims to widen the Defender's appeal across segments.

The highly awaited new-generation Land Rover Defender will finally make its global debut today at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, ending a nearly four-year hiatus since the last model was produced. Land Rover discontinued the original Defender in 2016 after 68 years of production and the British off-roader is all set to come back in a modern iteration while packing in all the capabilities and functionality from the original. Initially, the brand's locations and dealers in Europe will be changed over, followed by China in October. The changeover will then be implemented step-by-step in North and South America as well as the rest of the world from the beginning of 2020.

The future is 8-bit. At least that's what Hyundai's new '45' concept suggests that was recently teased, ahead of its debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. Inspired by the automaker's first model in the 1970s, the 45 fully-electric concept car will act as a symbolic milestone for Hyundai's future EV design, according to the company. The car that the automaker speaks of is the Hyundai Pony that was introduced in 1975 and was the first mass-market car in South Korea. The Hyundai 45 concept not only pays homage to the Pony but also takes a retro design cue or two for its EVs.
