Nicolas Prost claimed pole position for the first ever Beijing ePrix. The driver for e.dams-Renault was ahead of both Audi Sport ABT drivers, Lucas di Grassi and Daniel Abt. The Frenchman posted a 1.42.200s which put him a tenth of a second clear of Lucas di Grassi.

The free practice sessions held much promise for Mahindra Racing as Senna topped the charts with a time of 1:41.341s. So, it was clear that Senna would be gunning it to get on to pole position. However, it was not to be and Senna's car suffered a BMS issue and could not be restarted in time for the qualifying session. He will now start the race at the back of the grid.

However, it was Karun Chandhok who placed himself in 4th place and we will see the Indian driver trying his best to move up the grid and for all you know put Mahindra not only on the podium but also the points table.

Frank Montagny from Andretti Autosport was fifth fastest while Nick Heidfield (Venturi), Jaime Alguersuari (Virgin Racing), Charles Pic (Andretti Autosport), Sebastien Buemi (e.dams-Renault) and Nelson Piquet (China Racing) completed the top 10 line-up. The race will begin in a couple of hours from now and we are hoping to see one of the Mahindra Racing cars finish in the top three.
