Ford India has finally showcased the Freestyle crossover in India and here's all you need to know about the company first crossover for India. The all-new Ford Freestyle is the company's first outing in this crossover segment and upon launch it will be positioned between the Ford Figo and the Ford EcoSport.

Ford India has finally showcased the Freestyle crossover in India. We call it crossover but the company calls it a Compact Utility Vehicle. The Ford Freestyle carries forward the design from the Figo hatchback but there are a few variations. Ford has been able to make a distinguishing change in the looks of the Freestyle and though there will be those who think that it is essentially a Figo on stilts, the company categorically says that it has been able to make big changes on the car. The Ford Freestyle will slot between the Figo and the EcoSport and this is the company's first outing in this crossover segment.

Here's all you need to know about the Ford Freestyle
- The Ford Freestyle made its global debut in India and just nine hours later will be showcased in Brazil
- The new Ford Freestyle comes with additional body cladding, new features and an updated design too.
- The Ford Freestyle gets blacked out bumpers along with cladding all over to give it that SUVish look
- Ford has given styling upgrades to the cars throughout such as blacked out wing mirrors and roof rails as well.
- It also gets LED-lighting in order to make it look more contemporary when compared to the other hatchbacks in the segment.
- The Freestyle will be available in 4 variants: Ambient, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+
- The interior gets all black interior like the Figo Sport and an infotainment system which has smartphone integration in the form of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and the company's SYNC3 connectivity system.
- The Freestyle also gets a 6.5-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system sourced from the EcoSport facelift.
- The Ford Freestyle gets the tried and tested 1.5-litre three-cylinder diesel engine making 99 bhp and the new 1.2-litre Dragon series petrol engine that makes 94 bhp, mated to an all-new 5-Speed gearbox. Both engines are three cylinder units.
- At the time of launch, there will be no automatic variants on offer on the Freestyle
- Ford will launch the Freestyle in the second quarter this year
- The new crossover from Ford will be a 'Made-in-India' product and will also be exported to Europe, Mexico, Africa and the Middle East. Exports for the car will start by the second quarter this year
- The Freestyle will be manufactured at Ford's plant in Sanand, Gujarat.
