Ford EcoSport Recalled in India
Highlights
Ford EcoSport, the American carmaker's compact SUV, has been recalled in India as a result of "a potential concern related to Rear Twist Beam bolt". The voluntary recall affects 16,444 units of the Ford EcoSport that were manufactured at the carmaker's facility in Chennai between November 2013 and April 2014.

Ford explains that the Rear Twist Beam (RTB) bolt probably may not have been tightened to specification in some of the affected vehicles. This, in turn, may cause the pivot bolt to break that can potentially compromise vehicle handling and thereby increase the risk of an accident.
Additionally, the carmaker clarified that the aforementioned recall is a proactive voluntary action and that no accidents related to the concern have been reported.
The company will get in touch with owners of the affected Ford EcoSport units for inspection at a local Ford dealership. Furthermore, necessary rework, if at all, will be done free of charge at the respective dealerships.
