Ford Motor Company and vehicle connected products manufacturer Harman, are teaming up to launch an all-new in-vehicle audio system. Christened the B&O PLAY, this new sound system will be introduced in Ford vehicles globally from 2017. In the official statement released by the company, both the American giants claim that this new B&O PLAY will revolutionise in-vehicle sound system offering a unique high-quality audio experience.

As for the new audio system itself, each Ford vehicle that comes with the new Harman B&O PLAY includes special high-quality speakers that will be placed in the car in a specifically tailored manner. This process ensures optimal sound is maintained in the cabin and the people inside the car get the best audio experience. Ford says that B&O PLAY products reimagine more than 90 years of audio heritage, with natural materials, distinctive design and high-quality audio for seamlessly integrated experiences, whether a listener is in their home, on the go, or soon, in their car.

Talking about the new B&O PLAY, Michael Mauser, executive vice president and president of HARMAN's Lifestyle Audio Division said, "Ford and B&O PLAY are a perfect match among brands that stand for quality, freedom and innovative design, coming together to revolutionise the driving experience for consumers. With our shared commitment to seamless engagement and elevated experiences, Ford is the ideal automaker to bring the transformative power of B&O PLAY audio to drivers and passengers worldwide."

On the other hand, Raj Nair, Ford's executive vice president, product development and the chief technical officer said, "Customers tell us they value consistent, high-quality audio experiences, and our collaboration with HARMAN is helping provide that. This is just one of the ways we are creating richer, more engaging in-vehicle experiences for customers."

The company's statement also talks about a recent Ipsos 2016 Automotive Audio Branding study, which says that roughly one-third of new car buyers say that the audio brand in their next vehicle would have a significant impact on their purchase consideration.
