Fastest-Ever Audi R8 Competition Unveiled
Highlights
Audi has unveiled, what it is calling the most powerful Audi production vehicle to-date, the 2015 R8 Competition, well ahead of its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. This is likely to be the last hurrah for the current generation model.
The 5.2-litre V10 engine that goes under the hood develops 570bhp and comes mated to a 7-speed S tronic gearbox and an all-wheel drive system which will enable the car to rocket from 0-100Km/h in 3.4 seconds before topping out at 320Km/h. Considering thess figures, it is the fastest R8 indeed.
The model draws inspiration from the R8 LMS and features a number of matte carbon fibre components including a front spoiler, flics, side blades, mirror caps, a rear diffuser and a rear wing. The gloss black alloy wheels and a sports exhaust system with high-gloss black tailpipes adds to the overall stance of the car.
Inside, it gets a matte carbon fibre trim and illuminated 'R8 competition' door sill plates. Production will be limited to 60 units and first deliveries are scheduled for early next year.
