F1: Toro Rosso Confirms Carlos Sainz Jr for 2015 Season
Highlights
F1 team Toro Rosso will see a change in their driver line-up as they enter the 2015 season. The team confirmed that Carlos Sainz Jr will complete the Red Bull-owned junior team's driver lineup.
The 20-year-old Spaniard had been crowned the new Formula Renault 3.5 champion and will replace the Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne, who has been with the Italian team for the past three years.
Sainz is no newbie to the world of motorsport as he is the son of Carlos Sainz Sr, who has won the World Rally Championship Driver's Title twice when he was driving for Toyota. Sainz Sr. has won the title in 1990 and 92. He in fact holds the WRC record for the most career starts.
So for Sainz Jr. it wasn't a difficult decision. Sainz Jr. will see 17-year-old Dutchman and fellow F1 rookie, Max Verstappen as his team mate in the 2015 season.
