F1: Hamilton Wins the United States Grand Prix
Highlights
It was Lewis Hamilton's fifth consecutive victory, the first in his career, as he beat team-mate Nico Rosberg at the United States Grand Prix. Hamilton has extended his championship lead to 24 points with two races remaining. With double points on offer in Abu Dhabi, it looks like the championship will be decided at the final round.
Rosberg failed to convert his pole position into a win yet again. In the first stint he pulled out what appeared a comfortable three second lead but Hamilton closed the gap after the stop and pulled off a good move in to T12 to take a lead he would not relinquish.
It was Daniel Ricciardo in third place as he recovered from a very poor start to take on the two Williams drivers for the final podium position. Massa and Bottas were in 4th and 5th place while Ferrari's Fernando Alonso finished 6th. Sebastian Vettel recovered from a pit lane start to take seventh place after a late charge on soft tyres that saw him finish just 0.5s shy of Alonso.
Kevin Magnussen came in eighth ahead of Vergne and Pastor Maldonado, who scored his first points with Lotus.
The tenth one-two for Mercedes equals McLaren's record from 1988, but there is more to come and with the Driver's Championship hanging in balance, it looks to be an interesting year for F1.
