Elon Musk Says Tesla To Have True Full Self Driving Next Year Onwards
Highlights
- Musk believes true FSD will happen by the end of the year
- He claimed that by the end of the year 1 million FSD users will be there
- Musk has often been wrong about the FSD timelines
Elon Musk is all over the news with his acquisition of Twitter being the talk of the internet and then him also being referred to in the Amber Heard and Johnny Depp defamation case. But now for a change, he's talking about Tesla which hasn't been the case at least in the last month. He told reporters in Brazil that Tesla will have self-driving cars which will not human driver intervention by next year. It should be noted that Musk has always been wrong about this capability. In fact, the entire full self-driving, autonomous car industry has been wrong about when truly cars will be able to drive on their own without the need for human intervention.
Musk was on a trip to Brazil where he was announcing a partnership with the local government to launch a program to connect Amazonian regions with SpaceX's Starlink satellites for affordable wireless Internet. He predicted that Tesla would have true self-driving capability by around May 2023.
This comes after many wild claims by the richest man on the planet. He once claimed that Tesla would have 1 million robotaxis by 2020 which has not happened. Now he claims that by the end of the year, Tesla's FSD beta will be used by over a million users.
