The Kymco SuperNEX Electric superbike concept is attention stealer and the design certainly is extremely likeable. The twin bug-like headlamps look super, while the fairing is sharp in design. The bike looks compact and certainly something we'd like to see more often on roads. That said, it's the performance figures that will make the SuperNEX attractive. The bike can hit 0-100 kmph in 2.9 seconds,  0-200 kmpn in 7.5 seconds and 0-250 kmph in 10.9 seconds. The top speed is rated at 250 kmph.

Doing those kind of numbers also mean you need to be a professional rider. However, if you're not one, the company will offer the Kymco FEP (Full Engagement Performance) electronics package that includes launch control, rar-wheel lift control, traction control and different riding modes. The FEP package will customise the bike to meet the rider's preference, though Kymco is yet to reveal details on how the settings can be adjusted.

(There's no confirmation on production plans for the SuperNEX concept yet)

Power figures haven't been revealed yet, nor are the specifics on the electric motor, battery, etc. What we do know is that the bike will come with a 6-speed gearbox, so that the the motorcycle feels more like a conventional bike to ride, but will get a slipper clutch too so that shifts can be made without using a gear lever. In addition, Kymco says that the SuperNEX concept comes with an 'active acoustic motor', which in layman terms are a speaker, and enhances the sound of the motor. Other hardware details include Ohlins suspension and Brembo brakes on the Kymco SuperNEX concept.

Details are still under wraps for the concept's production plans. That said, the SuperNEX does look like something that needs to see a production line. We certainly are keeping our hopes high for this one!
